We're Going Back In!!

Well...looks like we will heading back in to the hospital either today or tomorrow. Ella's blood counts finally hit the marker they want to see to start round 2 of chemo. For those of you that understand these things....her ANC was 1891, platelets were 412 and Hb 12.6. These numbers are all wonderful and numbers we never saw before chemo was started. As her care coordinated told me when I said that I am almost nervous to see such a high ANC and platelet count...."that is because she is in remission and her bone marrow is finally working right"

So, I am just waiting to get a call from the hospital telling us if we will be admitted today or tomorrow and then we will start round 2 the next day. I am ready to move on with this treatment but so dreading going back in the hospital. This round is a little different. They break up the chemo infusion by giving it to her for 2 days and then having a break and then giving it to her again on days 8 and 9. Supposedly we will get to go home in between for 4 or 5 days so this first hospital stay should only be about 3 days. That I can live with....but when we go back, it will be for the long haul again, probably at least 3 weeks.

    she is so cute even while making an obscene gesture. i don't envy you and the hospital treatment but i am so grateful to hear that her bone marrow is working again. keep it up sweet Ella!

    Nobody wants back in the hospital, but at least you know that means you're one step closer to the finish line! Prayers for your little warrior!

    Necessary evil my friend,as you well know.But,as I have told others,that have started this journey after us,before you know t,you will be on this side and the view is spectacular!

    So wish Zoey had those awesome numbers post chemo ..a year later and we are STILL waiting on decent ANC!!!

    Congrats on hitting the magic numbers! I hope that the first few days back in aren't too bad and that you enjoy the few days at home before the long haul. We will definitely have to visit again when you are in for the long haul!

    I hope your days fly by in the hospital. Glad the #'s are where they are supposed to be. Obscene???I think she is blowing William a kiss :)

    I'm glad you are able to start round 2 - although I can't imagine another long stay in the hospital. We are praying for Ella and the rest of your family as you start round 2. Hugs from Joel to Ella!

    first i have to say i literally laughed out loud at your commentary that "yes it looks like she is making an obscene gesture"! so funny!

    also - i am so happy to hear that ella's bone marrow is working correctly and her numbers are so much better... but at the same time i am dreading for you the trip back into the hospital - especially the long one! keep us posted!!! :)

    Remember to take plenty of things to help YOU relax... you don't want to end up with high blood pressure from stress (LOL)! Books, music, perhaps some flameless aromatherapy?? Be good to yourself so you have more energy for Miss Ella. I'm thinking about you and Ella ((HUG))

    Aw, man! I'm glad her counts are good but wishing she didn't need further treatment and hospital stays. I hope this will all be done soon enough! Oh, I made a mental note of her size ;-) I hope to make something soon, within the next couple of weeks! Does she have a favorite animal?
