I Had My Moment.....

Last night as I was saying my bedtime prayers, as I always do, I prayed for family and friends in need and then moved on to my family. As usual, I prayed for Ella’s health and thanked God for her as I do every night. But tonight was different, I felt an overwhelming sensation of just how thankful I am for her. I mean I realized just how strong my love is for her and how I wouldn’t EVER change a thing about her. When we found out that she would be born with Ds, we heard all of the clichés about what a blessing she would be to our family and what joy she would bring etc. etc. But you know what, those aren’t clichés. It is the honest truth!! I AM SO THANKFUL FOR YOU SWEET ELLA!!! Thank you God for putting her in our lives…..as usual, You know what is right!!!

I know the feeling. I couldn't imagine what life was like without Mattie. She brings so much joy! Such a cute picture of Ella!

You said it perfectly! I love my sweet Justin so very much. I always tell people even if I had the opportunity to "change" him, I NEVER would. He is perfect just the way he is and was meant to be in our family. What sweet spirits!!!

That is awesome. I never thought I was going to have my moment, but it finally happened when Benjamin was about 9 1/2 months old. And now I have my moment Every. Single. Day.

I can relate so well to what you said. I remember the same thing when I was pregnant with Joel. I remember thinking will I really feel blessed to have him in my life or is that just what people say. Now I can't imagine life without him and I know he is indeed a blessing from God!

I am a special education teacher and it is so wonderful and important to hear from parents. It helps me become even more passionate about promoting the interests of children with special needs and supporting them school.

I came across your blog when trying to decide what to address next on my blog, which focuses on helping build empathy and support for children with special needs in inclusive settings. I would love to hear from parents about what they would like discussed.

Very well said! I thank God at least once every single day for my precious gift from Him. Lily seems to bring out the best in people. She makes her daddy cry sometimes because his love for her is so overwhelming. One of her big brothers who isn't interested in much but friends and video games announced the other day..."I love this baby". We are ALL so blessed to have Lily in our lives!!!
