So Frustrating!!!

Just look at the great feeding skills that Ella has. Yep, she can hold the spoon nicely, and make it all the way to the mouth just fine. Unfortunately, it isn't HER mouth that it is going to. Nope, she is feeding Elmo beautifully but has absolutely no interest in feeding herself. Oh well, we will continue to wait...and hope....and pray!!

OH how cute is that but your right frustrating. We are lucky if Sam lets us put food in his mouth. We were going to start on the self feeding but then he had to have his tonsils and adnoids out so it's put us behind even more.

Hehehe - that Elmo's a lucky little guy! So sweet. And pretend-play is a great skill in itself!

Is she able to get hungry? Of course, talk to your doctor first, but when we were transitioning Angela, we did ONLY oral feeds during the day, so she could actually GET hungry and thirsty. Then we balanced out her calories by tube at night while she was sleeping. ;-)

I feel your pain friend.I really do.But one day, when you least expect it,she will get that loving feeling back for something oral. Now,I don't speak from experience mind you cuz you know where we sit with the whole feeding thing, but I speak from a place of hope.got to always have hope.

What a stinker though.Seriously.

Hey, at least she has the skills, so when she's ready, she'll be a pro. Arina will come show her how its done!

She's just putting others before herself. :)

Just look at her beautiful grip, she's got it absolutely right and she's going to transfer that spoon to her own mouth someday soon. Atleast she knows how to do it. This must be frustrating but she will do when she#s ready. Isn#t patience our greatest virtue with our kids. I loved that video and she is just so adorable. HUGS

It WILL come! It's just so hard to wait! But when she starts eating again you'll be so amazed at how far she comes!
