Back In The Hospital For Round 5

Round 5 is officially underway as of 5pm today. Ella will be hooked up to the IV receiving chemo for 7 days. I fear that it will be a long 7 days having her hooked up but we have no choice but to push through it. Yes, she is getting chemo for a much longer period this round but thankfully it is a much lower dose than previous rounds so hopefully she will still tolerate it well. As you can see from the picture above, Ella came right back in with a smile on her face. As I pushed her in the stroller from the parking garage, she literally waved at every person we passed. And then when we got back up to the oncology floor, she walked around saying her hellos until the nurse finally made her come back in the room to get checked in and hooked up. I am so thankful that Ella is young enough not to understand exactly what is going on as I am sure the transition to come back in would be so much tougher each time.

Below are a couple of pictures from when we were home. We weren't home long enough to accomplish much but we did at least get to the pumpkin patch but I will post those in another post.

This goofy girl is walking around holding
a diaper (yes, it is clean) under her chin. I
really have no idea why!!

We attended my step sister's wedding this past Saturday
and I was able to get a decent pic of the three girls. Ella
wasn't the most cooperative though.

Trying to get a picture of Emma and Ella after Emma's
soccer game (at which she scored all 3 goals :) but once
again, Ella wasn't exactly cooperating!!

Left my phone in the car.Didn't get your text messages till just now ... won't reply this second as I know I'd wake you up!

Praying for a quick in and out round.Lighter dosage and maybe faster recovery?Just my thought.Want to come this weekend but I feel a tickle in my throat and don't know where that is maybe leading.Don't want to risk it with Ella and Klein.

Talk to you tomorrow.love the pictures and yeah for Emma.3 goals...Super!

Praying for an easy stay in the hospital, being hooked up to IV for 7 days doesn't sound easy though! But Ella is such a champion and I know she will get through this without any trouble. I will be thinking of you guys all the time and I can't wait till this whole thing is over successfully. I admire your strength and your positive attitude, this will see Ella through.

The pictures are awesome. I love the one of the three girls. I say if you get them all looking in the same direction you have success! Good luck with this next round. Slow and Steady, that's what they say, right? Keeping sweet Ella and your whole family in my thoughts. HOpe the girls are holding up. I'm sure this is so hard on them. HOpefully they have good, supportive teachers. Hugs to you all.

Ella is so darn photogenic! I am surprised that she wasn't cooperating in those other photos because she seems like she always has a smile for the camera. She looks wonderful and I hope that this longer round of chemo goes smoother than expected and that the 7 days fly by so the little rascal can be free to roam and cause mischief again. Not that she won't succeed in creating plenty even with the IV in her!
