Yesterday afternoon, we drove down to San Diego to visit with my Great Aunt. She and my Grandmother were identical twins. My Grandma lived to be almost 93 years old and now my Great Aunt is about to turn 100 years old in just 3 months. As she was sitting with Ella on her lap, it occurred to me that they are 99 years apart in age!! Do you realize how much has changed in this world in 99 years? What a different life they each had at birth. Although my aunt's mental state isn't too good anymore, she just LOVES the children. She was so concerned about if the baby was warm enough and as you will be able to tell from the pics, we could hardly get her to take her eyes off of Ella long enough to look at the camera. It was like trying to get two kids to look at the same time.....hence the reason they aren't!!! I also had a Great Aunt and Great Uncle on my dad's side that lived to be 100 & 99 respectively, so I am hoping that this means a pretty good life expectancy on my part :)
Still no more information about Ella's bone marrow results. We will do another CBC tomorrow or Wednesday to see if her platelets have improved so we know if we get to travel or not. I will update as soon as I know. But for now, I just continue to get things ready as if we are hitting the road in 5 days!!!

Alot of beautiful ladies in these pictures!
wow,she is so sweet, treasure her.
That is a special pic of the 4 generations...We took one with my grandparents and Charlie (my oldest) before they passed. I agree - it is amazing to think about how much the world has changed, even in the last 20 years - let alone 99!
Praying that you get the positive results from Ella's bloodwork so you can go on your vacation! We head to Maine on Friday.
BTW- loved Ella's funny faces in one of your previous posts :)
That is so awesome! Hope to hear about the results soon. Good luck!
Another awesome little side trip.Hoping that the big road trip is still in the works.Thinking about you and Miss Ella.Waiting patiently along side you for the official results.
What amazing pictures. As I read about your Great Aunt it brought tears to my eyes. My Grandfather passed away a month shy of his 99th birthday. He was healthy as an ox and passed in his sleep. I was talking to my Aunt the other day when we were visiting her and I said you know, Grandpa's funeral was harder them Grandma's because he was around for soooo long, you just thought he was always going to be there and we all got to know him so well. What a great thing for your kids to get to know your Great Aunt so well and for so many years. What an amazing legacy she has. Yes, Doug and I will be in town, just the kids are going so we look forward to meeting you and the rest of the family.
Wow - 100 years old - that's amazing!!
I will be praying for you as you await the blood test results - that Ella's platelets have improved and that you will be able to take your trip!
