I decided to title my road trip posts as "The Ella Tour" because of a comment my husband made. As we were driving yesterday and talking about the plans we have while on this trip, he said I feel like this is The Ella and Denise tour because everything is planned around meeting up with your friends. (Don't worry, he said it with a smile). I cut the name down to just "The Ella Tour" because most of it is about people getting to meet Ella for the first time.
Anyway....we brought our laptop so I can update wherever we have wireless service but unfortunately, I forgot the USB cord for my camera and our laptop doesn't have a slot for the camera disk so I will only be able to post pics when I have access to someone's home computer.
We finally hit the road about 9am yesterday morning....I off only 3 1/2 hours sleep and my husband off no sleep as he worked all night the night before. Luckily after 2 big cups of iced tea, I was feeling wide awake and drove the first 380 miles and my husband was able to sleep. we made it to Salt Lake City about 9pm and swooped by to pick up my father in law and went to Denney's for dinner before checking in to the hotel. We were all exhausted but still didn't make it to bed before midnight....even Ella! The trip went great. Abbey and Emma had their DVD players so we only really heard from them when they were hungry or had to go to the bathroom. Ella did AWESOME!! She took a couple one hour naps along the way and otherwise just talked to herself and played with toys. She had a little meltdown the last 20 minutes because we made a quick gas stop and she got mad that we didn't get her out and I think that just put her over the edge. Today, we have just been hanging with Grandpa. Daddy and Grandpa took the older girls to the mall to spend the money that Grandpa gave them while I sit in the hotel room with Ella so she can nap. I don't want her to be too tired for our big night. Tonight we go to a BBQ at Jax's home with Preslie and Justin and hopefully a few other little ones. I am really looking forward to this!!! Maybe I can even post a few pics from Lacey's computer. That's all for now!!
