She Is Doing Well

Ella has now completed the infusion (putting poison into her IV) part of round 2. It finished this morning with a shot in the leg of one of the other chemo medications that she gets this round. So far, she has been feeling fine. I wouldn't say that she has seemed to be nauseous at all so far. ( I really hope that I am not jinxing her now. ) I am sure as this next week goes on, she will start to get more and more tired as her blood counts start to drop but that is to be expected and it really never got terribly bad last round. We will remain in the hospital while her counts drop and come back up to an acceptable level, just like last time. We were inpatient for a total of 27 days the first round so hopefully this round will be a little less since part of that was all of the stuff she dealt with those first few days.

Big sisters, Abbey and Emma came home Wednesday night and daddy brought them straight to the hospital to see Ella. I think they were all very happy to see each other. The next night Emma came with daddy for our switch off and Ella wouldn't stop giving her kisses and hugs. The next adventure for the big girls will be heading to Oregon on July 8th to spend a week with my cousin, Robin and my Aunt Judy and Uncle Denny. When I was a kid, I used to go up there during the summers and LOVED it. I think they will have a great time!! They really enjoyed being in TX and catching up with all their old friends. They have pretty much been lazy bums since they got back. I think that it what happens when you basically have 10 sleepovers in a row.

So glad to hear that so far she is feeling good. Praying that as her numbers drop that she continues to feel ok. Also, that her numbers come back up in a hurry and you can get home soon.
She is amazing, she looks so good for having just had chemo!
Glad Abbey & Emma made it home safely. Ella was obviously so excited to see them both!
Praying for all of you, hug that adorable princess for us.

Denise,

Thank you for your note on my blog. I have been very carefully following all of your updates for several weeks now and praying for you both! I am so in love with Ella just by looking at her pictures! She looks like such a sweetheart...I know there is a big chance that this will be me in maybe a year or two, and I am anxious to learn all I can now! I have been trying to figure out how I can post her button on my blog (Can you tell I am a new blogger)
Also, I totally agree with you about the big ears, small feet thing...I have found myself almost gasping sometimes when I see "normal" sized feet and ears because they seem giant to me. lol.

Blessings to you both!

Happy that things are going well so far, and with all the prayers I am sure they will continue to do so.

It's so wonderful to see Ella all full of smiles even when she couldn't possibly be feeling her best...what a little fighter. God bless her and I will be praying for all of you

Denise I have to tell you I so admire your braveness as a mom to send your girls on these great trips!!! I tend to hover and be way over protective. And not in a good way!!

You are letting your girls have a super summer and make happy memories.

As for Miss Ella,well.. being surrounded by prayers looks good on her!!

Love the photos!

Oh and btw, I am tickled that your girls wanted a copy of Miss Em's photo!! I seriously cannot wait to meet you all one day!!

Love and kisses from up our way.

Darling pictures with her sisters.

There is something different about her look in the last picture.. is it she looks all grown up or the opposite, she still looks like a baby?A bit of both I think.

this round wasn't too bad for us,or I should say our warrior girl.Praying for the same for Sweet Ella.Hoping to get down next weekend. We'll see what your weekend looks like.

Talk to you soon.

Oh Denise, the pictures of Ella with the girls just warmed up my heart. I can just imagine the reunion! It must have been wonderful. I'm sure this is so hard on them. Great that they're getting away and some time for themselves. Glad to hear Ella's feeling well so far. I'll keep that positive mojo coming. Happy 4th!

I have to know if Sweet Ella always has an adorably funny facial expression or is it only captured when you take a picture? Seriously, so cute & unique!
