She's A Real Walker Now!!

Yesterday, Ella finally started walking EVERYWHERE!! It was as if she finally got up the guts to start trusting herself. It simply amazes me how just like that she went from mostly crawling with the occasional walk thrown in to walking almost constantly.

You may notice on a few of her closeups that he hair is REALLY thinning now. She lost quite a few big clumps this last week and now I can no longer do her signature water spout pony tail. We have regressed back to just sticking a bow in her hair but let me tell you, it is literally hanging on by a thread!!

She seems to be feeling great but we have to be very careful with exposing her to anyone because in the last few days, her ANC count has dropped to almost zero, something that usually we would still be in the hospital for. This round is definitely alot different from the previous rounds as her platelets and hemoglobin are still looking great. Just another day in the life of the medical mysteries of a child with Ds!!!

Such a big change from just a few weeks ago when we visited at CHOC! She was so afraid to let go of the chair to take an independent step and now look at her go! Every time you come home she shows off some amazing new skill. She certainly knows how to make the best of her time at home between rounds!

And Ella still looks beautiful even with thinning hair. It's getting closer to fall so hats will be all the rage anyway! She just knows what is in style! :-)

Give her a big hug and slobbery kiss from Sweet Pea and me! Good luck keeping those nasty germs away! I hope her counts start rising soon!

Great walking Ella! Still cute as can be even if the bow is hanging on by a thread. She probably still has more hair than Lindsey. Keep it up big girl, you are doing amazing!

Go,girl, go! So fun to see her walking! And she looks adorable as always. Do you want/need any headbands that you can clip bows on to? If so, I would be happy to make some. But she doesn't need a bow or anything else to look beautiful! Give her a big squeeze from all of us!

That is just the most exciting news, and that video brought tears to my eyes, happy tears, just seeing her zipping around the place, makes it all so real, I don't feel so far away. Everytime any of our kids do something new I think all of us here in blogland feel that joy as we know just how much an achievement it is.

Ella looks so happy, I see the thining hair but at the same time I don't see it, it doesn't matter it's only temporary and she's just as beautiful either way, it really doesn't change her beautiful face. What counts is just how full of life she is, her laugh and her wonderful little personality. Big hugs to her and sending her so much love.
