Uugghh!! I got Ella's blood drawn today for her "monthly" blood check. I was pretty sure that her platelets would be low (what's new) because she has had some petechiae on her face lately. But when the doctor's office called, they told me that her Hemoglobin was low now too. It wasn't as bad as it was back in November when she was hospitalized but it's low enough (7.8 when it should be at least 11.o) that she has to go in to the outpatient clinic tomorrrow (friday) for a blood transfusion. Of course since the November scare, I am always checking her for paleness but it is so hard because she is so fair to begin with. The doctor's assistant said that he would come and talk to us tomorrow while we are there to see what the game plan will be. I am sure he will want to do another bone marrow biopsy to see if any "bad" cells are starting to brew....ie: leukemia :( But the good news is that there weren't any "bad" cells in her blood right now. So for now we just pray that this is another quirk in Ella's blood. On a side note, her platelets were low (65 when they should be at least 140) but they were actually up from March when they were 58. This child definitely keeps us on our toes!! These pics are from today so you can see that she definitely has energy still and maybe looks a little pale....but nothing like the last time!!

Poor little poppet. Hope all goes smoothly for you. Luke had a rash of the same type for ages last year, but bloods were pretty good, and just some slightly elevated white cells from memory, but as he had a cold AGAIN was not a problem.
Kids huh :)
OH Ella!!!!
Praying!!!!
That's me above in the tutu!! HA! Olivia didn't sign out! AGAIN!!
Praying everything will be OK...we are dealing with some petechiae as well right now.
Praying for a quirk. Sweet girl...no more funny blood, ok?!!
I will definitely pray that it was a quirk in Ella's blood.
It looks like Ella has a lot of energy! If I could have just a fraction of her energy, I'd be good to go:)
Have a great week and Happy Mother's Day!! <3

Thanks for offering a meal for us. We are all here together at the Ronald McDonald house as a family. They are amazing here. They have meals for us morning, noon and night. And the hospital feeds me too because I'm pumping :). Such a blessing. The girls are even doing school wth a teacher there.. One less worry as well. That's so sweet of you to offer..
We are thinking about you Ella! You are such a cutie! :)

Bring on the FLUKES! Praying for another Ella quirk and nothing more. Also praying for a smooth transfusion tomorrow. Keep us posted.
oh but she is OH SO CUTE! Bree had that same stroller and she LOVED it and it worked GREAT as a walker to learn how to walk too!
I just talked to Heather and I told her I hadn't read this post yet. I did notice in the lollipop picture her color was off. Heather laughed because she noticed it to. Its our intuition, we've seen this too much, although I'm not up on all the luekemia talk (haven't done that one, whew) its her lips that I notice. She is quite fair anyways, I always notice the lips. Keep me updated!
I know you don't know me, but I thought I'd leave a comment before. I too have an Ella Grace. My Ella Grace was born on Jan 8, 2008. I don't know what I was searching for, because it wasn't Ella Grace, but your blog showed up, and of course I had to go there! I have three girls also: Kensley is 11, Shelby is 9, and Ella Grace is 2! I thought the similarities were cute!
I can't imagine what you are feeling today, after writing this entry. I can't imagine all that you have been going through. I know the difficulties of normal life, and to have the added stress of a sick baby breaks my heart for you. You are a phenomenal person, and I am really impressed with your seemingly good spirits!
I hope you don't mind, but I am bookmarking your page and intend on reading on... I will be saying prayers for you and Ella Grace, and all of your family!
I'm praying for your sweet little girl. She doesn't look pale to me, but she looks like she's having an ABSOLUTE blast with that stroller. super sweet!
Oh, Denise --
We will definitely be praying for Sweet Ella.
Seriously, wasn't it just the other day that you posted that your life was so "regular" right now, and I commented something about how we should be thankful that Ella is so healthy?
Praying, Praying, Praying!
Oh... sweet love bug. We'll be praying.
